Solve : dark laptop screen? |
|
Answer» my toshiba LAPTOP screen is so dark the only way to see the icons is to hold a flashlight up to it. i pulgged in a desktop monitor to it and it worked FINE...has ANYONE seen or heard of this problem? What happened before this started, and how old is the laptop? there are no controls on the monitor itself to adjust Check the keyboard. This can often be controlled by holding down the Fn key and pressing the brightness keys, which are usually found up by the volume control. I'll look for a picture to give you a better idea of what I mean. EDIT: Darn you and your broadband, CALUM. [cleaning up - attachment deleted by admin]Read this link: http://www.softwaretipsandtricks.com/forum/hardware-problems/2158-laptop-screen-very-dark-cant-see.htmlfound the fn key tried that and got nuhtin.Quote EDIT: Darn you and your broadband, Calum.LOL. I have this same problem with my laptop sometimes, usually it works after shutting/opening it once but sometimes it takes 10 or more times. Quote ! I found when I took it apart that the switch that tells the laptop that the screen is "down" was held down by some plastic insulation that I accidentally moved. This made the laptop think the screen was always down. I moved it over and everything works fine now!! Well on the laptop my family has NEAR the top of the keyboard, where the screen and keyboard meet is this little piece of plastic you can push down. When you push it down the screen goes blank see if your laptop has something like that.nothing like that on my laptop. i tried the opening and closing of the monitor and that didn't work either....i guess i'll get out the scredriver set and start searching inside Another conclusion would be that the back light died in your laptop, you might want to get a local computer store to look at it instead of taking it apart. |
