Answer» D drive is not reading Microsoft Office 2007 disk. Why? I just reinstalled Windows XP. Is there something I'm missing? Are you getting any error message? Is D drive listed in Windows Explorer, Device Manager, Disk Management? Is D drive listed in Windows Explorer, Device Manager, Disk Management?Yes. I don't get any error messages. It seems the computer checks the disk drive, but nothing's happening. I am in the processes of downloading Service Pack 3. Will that help. As you can see I'm still learning."Yes" to what question? No rush with SP3. No Service Pack should be installed, if computer is having problems. I assume, it's XP?Quote from: Broni on December 10, 2008, 10:02:19 PM "Yes" to what question?COULD it be the disk. I used the disk once to set up Office 2007 before the crash. Is there a POSSIBILITY it could only be used once? There is a message that's saying put a disk in the drive. I believe it may be the disk.Try it on another computer.Quote from: Broni on December 10, 2008, 10:31:34 PM Try it on another computer.I got the disk from my school, and it's telling me it has exceeded the number of times it can be used. So you are trying to install a version that you didn't pay for. You needed to mention this in your original post and have you always got the message about it being used too many times. From your earlier post it SOUNDED like the comp wasn't detecting the disk at all.Ask the school for a new one...Hmmm...interesting. How does the disk know, how many times it was accessed?Quote from: Broni on December 11, 2008, 05:28:21 PM Hmmm...interesting. How does the disk know, how many times it was accessed? When I tried to active the software, it said the number of times it can be activated has been exceeded. I will call the school to see if they can send me another. My computer recently crashed, and I had to reinstall everything. It may be doing this using the .HAL file... They just keep getting trickier and trickier out there in Redmond... Quote When I tried to active the softwareThat explains...
