Will emptying this folder result in dire consequces? Dire results as in George Bush becoming president for a second and third run? No. The temporary files are created by programs to.. temporary store files. However, for some reason, it is left to the user to remove them. You can safely remove them. Some may refused to be removed as they are currently in use. BEST to do so from safe mode. You can also empty the C:\windows\prefetch folder without any consequences should you ever wonder. (Assuming this is present in Pre-Windows XP)Walter: CTL3D.DLL is a Windows file used to produce 3D EFFECTS for Windows applications: http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/dlllibrary/ctl3d/ Replacing the file should speed up your graphics. Windows 98 will replace it for you if you run the System File Checker: 1. Boot your computer to the Windows 98 desktop and put in the Windows 98 CD. 2. Click Start, then Run, and type SFC in the Run dialog box and press Enter. 3. Have the System File Checker scan your computer. When if finds that CTL3D.DLL is missing or corrupt and asks if you want to replace it from the CD, click Yes. That should do it! Doc Quote Dire results as in George Bush becoming president for a second and third run? LOL Nope, U.S. Presidents are have been limited to two terms after F.D.R. passed away in his third term and Congress passed a law. However, if you add the terms of GB Sr. and GB Jr. there are three. Then there is always Jr.'s brother who is Governor of Florida. Two more years to come? I haven't quite been keeping up to date with any sort of politics, but isn't Arnold the governator ( ) of Florida? One President per State would be a better idea. Then you can dismantle big government. Why does Alan Greenspan want another 80 billion immigrants, anyone know? |
