Solve : CPU Tweaking Killed Me!? |

Answer» DEAR smart PEOPLE, I recently messed around in my BIOS to find my CPU Speed and make it faster. I was stupid and sped it up and now, when i turn on my computer, my monitor doesnt even come on. My monitor says it can't find a signal. HOW DO I FIX THIS?!?!? I just payed to get it reformatted and now its all messed up again because i tryed tweaking my cpu speed! Please computer wizes, help me! I really need help! Please and thankyou for reading!This is what i Did I got a my computer reformatted 8 days ago. Last night I wanted to make it FASTER. I restarted my PC Went into BIOS by pressing "DEL" Then I selected "CPU" I went in Highlighted my CPU speed that said "DEFAULT" Pressed the "+" sign to make my CPU faster. Exited the BIOS Program Restarted my PC And now my monitor doesn't turn on. I am thinking because my other computer parts can't comply with the cpu speed and same with my Monitor. How do i fix it?Put it BACK like it was and leave it? If you have to pay to get the operating system loaded, you are not competent enough to SAFELY mess with ANY settings at any time.Jack T Green........ My advice to you is to take it back to whomever fixed it for you the last time .........Tell them what you did .........Have them repair it ....... AND THEN........... Remember .....If it ain't broke don't fix it ........particularly when you dont understand what it is your doing . If your lucky you haven't damaged anything . dl65 If you don't know what you're doing, you shouldn't mess around in the BIOS. Remove the CMOS battery for 10 seconds to reset the CMOS to default values.It's quite possible you have managed to fry that CPU and or the MBoard itself. Take the good advice given above and best of luck to you. Without you guys, i dont know what to do. I want to thank the one person who didnt yell at me. Im just a little kid trying to get the best of my pc. All of you guys that supported one another to fix this problem, i truly thank you. It works and im back on my precious computer. For the ones that flamed, think maybe some people aren't so good with computers or are illiterate like me. Now your post is signature hahah merlin_2. Your funny! I said SPECIFICALLY i didn't have my monitor availible as in, because of the CPU Tweaking, IT DOESNT TURN ON THE MONITOR but still, thanks anyways. The solution was the battery "trick" in the motherbaord. Thanks whoever that suggested that |
