Answer» When I start my PC, not only get a checksum ERROR: defaults loaded but at the same screen you can see the CPU Temp about 40 to 50 degrees. This temperature goes on increasing invariable and at 90+ the system shuts down, of course. I cleaned the PC, checked the RAM, cooled the Processor and also cleaned the fan of the processor. Solution for check sum could be found here. But what about the tremendous increase in temperature like 50, 70, 85, 94 and shutdown. Cannot figure out how to stop that or the cause for it.I can only guess but it sounds like the processor is running at 100% due to the check sum error and is heating up beyond belief..try safe mode and see if it does the same thing....If you have another hard drive, load windows on it and see if it does the same thing...if it doesn't then you know its a problem with windows at least and not hardware. That's all I can think of, hope it helps.....good luck Tried to go into safe mode but it does not cross the screen it shuts at the screen with the motherboard info (the one with black and white written). Then tried to go into CMOS but its also shuts then.reapply new thermal paste.Remove your CMOS BATTERY for a few minutes and then reinsert it. Now, power back up. Leave the case open and look to make sure the fan on top of your heatsink is spinning. If that doesnt do it, then apply new thermal paste. Make sure you scrape all of the old paste off before PUTTING the new stuff on there. An even, paper thin layer is all you need.I removed the battery for sometime and put it again. Still getting CMOS checksum error -Defaults loaded. Temperature just goes on increasing (not yet looked at the thermal paste). I have never before used thermal paste. Any suggestions of brands? Does the temperature of PC increase so fast without the thermal paste? coz never had such a problem before. Like at the same screen where I get the Checksum error the temperature is SHOWN which is shooting up like 50-75-83-90+ and shutdown.
