Solve : Copying from one drive to another??

Answer»

Is it quicker to delete the info from one drive and then copy the new info over or to just copy over and hit overwrite existing files?

COPYING mass info and it takes like 3 hrs so trying to figure out the quickest way.

thanks in advance.Don't delete anything you want to copy.

The time taken for a file to copy depends on the file size. COPY and PASTE would be the only way.

Would I be correct in assuming that you are trying to copy to an external source?Quote from: Carbon Dudeoxide on March 25, 2008, 09:53:29 AM

Yes you are correct. I am copying from a HARDDRIVE to and External Harddrive. So to answer your original question, copying will be faster if you leave the COMPUTER ALONE and don't do anything on it. Running a program/game may take up resources and computing power, slowing the copying down.yes, thanks for the info. What is it you are trying to do ? ?
