Solve : converting file format?

???pardon my ignorance but im using corel word PERFECT 8 (on a RELATIVES computer) and when i GO to open a document on my disc a window POPS up with that says: convert file format.  it has: ms word for window 97 (the program i USED to write it i guess) highlited.  i click okay and then another window pops up saying: unknown file format.

Try this:

Right-click on the WordPerfect document file and choose Open With and then WordPerfect.

That might do it.
