I have a license for xp home but downloaded xp pro over it.  How can I revert back to xp home?jcski..... Reinstall Win Xp .

dl65  I have the dell XP home CD that came with the computer.  Will I need to reformat and reinstall Home?

I heard that I could not install home over XP. jcski.....  Yes , that's the best way ...then it's NICE and clean .....  DONT forget if you do that .........any data stored on the pc will be lost ...so be sure and burn whatever you want onto cds ...........
And..then after you install XP home ........install your anti virus before going online .......

when you loaded xp pro......bettter than home?......have you have any problems......you might have upgrading to pro....without knowing it.......is it running ok! leave it TILL something happens Ski:

Check the Add and Remove Programs applet in the Control Panel.  If there was enough free hard DRIVE space, XP Pro may have backed up the files needed to restore XP Home.  If so, there will be an uninstall XP Pro option in the list of programs.

I'd suggest booting to Safe Mode before you attempt the uninstall of XP Pro.  Also, create a restore point or use a third-party backup program to backup Windows system files.  Do NOT use the XP Pro backup program as it is not available in XP Home.
