Answer» I just installed another 512MB of RAM into my computer. It keeps rebooting. can someone help? If you need the REST of the specs, just say so.Is it rebooting automatically, or do you have time to access anything before it reboots. It could have something to do with autoexec, although if it wasn't happening before...try taking the new ram out and seeing if it continues to do so. can ur mobo support the extra ram? is it the right type of ram? do the two ram speeds match up? ex. both ddr 400 if the problem STOPS when u take the new stick out try putting TH enew one and the old out and seeing if it restarts. if not then put the old one back in and try it with the new one in place.
unlovedwarriorDo we GET any hints about the motherboard, the operating system and the RAM you purchased, or we just have to guess?
If it was fine and the problems all started when the RAM was installed, it is most likely a mismatch, but some more info is reqauired. See below.
