Answer» Hi i am starting a HNC/D in computing this September and i am a bit worried that the COURSE will be to challanging for me.
I have been GIVEN a list of the books that i will need for the first year so i can carry out some initial reading. I was wondering if anyone knew where i could get some information on these topics or if anyone knew of where i could get the following in e books:
The PC Support Handbook (The Configuration and Sysytem Guide) By David *censored*, Publisher: Dumbreck Publishing
Business Information Systems By Paul Bocij, Dave Chaffet, Andrew Greasly & Simon Hickie
Digital Multimedia By Nigel and Jenny Chapman
The Study Skills Handbook By Stella Cottrell Publisher: Palgrave
Many Thanks
Let me know if you need the ISBN Numbers
Steve i don't know about e-books but for soft or hard cover books, visit amazon.com or barnesandnoble.com. Used books are often available at significantly lower cost. Here's The Study Skills Handbook on amazon.com. I'd think too - some serious Googling and saving to DISC of many web pages could ALSO help out a lot. Create your own mini library - to at least add to and support what books you may get.
There is so much really useful info ''out there''.
Best of luck.eBay can be a great resource as well. But I've found that I typically get best prices by buying used books on Amazon. Thankfully, I get most of my textbooks for free through financial aid. As for eBooks...they can be difficult to FIND and many of them don't even exist. Your best bet is to visit the publishers' sites and search for your books. They should tell you if the books come in eBook format or not. In my experience, I have found that most textbooks unfortunately do not.I'd imagine it's available in e-book format, but a must is "Upgrading and Repairing PCs". I have at least 5 of the editions.
