Solve : Computer won't recognize CD ROM drives? |
|
Answer» Ok Here's the deal. I have an ancient computer running Win 98 with an Intel motherboard and a Pentium ll processer. When booted it doesnt recognize either of the 2 CD drives installed on it anymore. It does recognize the card reader on the Lexmark printer. I don't know when exactly this came about but I know that at one time it did list all of the installed drives A THRU G. I just got a new computer and would like to INSTALL an external hard drive to transfer files from the OLD 'puter but can't install the driver for it without using the CD drive. Downloading from the internet is difficult because I am limited by a dial up connection. Any help appreciated. Those CD drives will need drivers to run properly...Win98 is the last version this was neccessary. |
