Answer» The past 3-4 weeks my computer has been turning off on its own. Sometimes it will stay on for hours at a time, and sometimes it takes me 20 times just to get it started. can any one please help me UNDERSTAND why this is happening and what i can do to fix it?? Its a refurbished schools Dell computer with XP windows pentium 4 if that HELPS oput anything. signed FRUSTRATED!!!!!Are you doing something particular, when it shuts off? Please, post some computer info: - processor type, amount of RAM (hold Windows logo key, hit Pause/Break key) - hard drive size/free space (open "My Computer", right click on hard drive letter, click "Properties")have you been seeing ODD behavor other than the shutdowns(popus saying like error need to SHUT down, a virus has been detected ect?) also plz LISTEN to bronis post too.
