Before and after it slows down they're the same temps.
Those are the temps idling with messenger.

What security programs do you USE?OKAY.. I just removed the Sata 160GB harddrive off my computer and it seems that everything is back to normal.

My OS is installed in C: 80gb PATA

Since the harddrive was newly installed I had like 150 gb of free space.
And I had no security programs installed after I formatted.

Can you try to connect this harddrive to other computer and see if it will have problems on that computer..I also think this thread should be move to "Hardware"The SATA drive if it had consecutive errors may have been DROPPED back in to PIO mode...

It was a new hard drive. Could new hard drives come with errors?
