Well uh, it's not really MY computer but I'm trying to fix my friend's Dell.

It's a laptop, brand is Dell and model is vostro 1320

The problem:

Well as she described it to me, the computer shuts down about once a week and it starts to FLASH at the top of her screen (right CORNER I believe) and they already tried FORMATTING the computer however this did not resolve the issue!

Please, comment with anything you might believe to be the error.1) WHAT starts to flash?
2) Why doesn't she post here? It's easier to work with the first party.1. The screen is in that screen when it's all black, and only a white _ is flashing in the top left.. I can't remember what it's called..

She doesn't know about me posting here, I'm just trying to figure out the problem and / or solutionNo offense friend, but if you don't know what a cursor is called then she's better off posting here herself so we can ASK her questions and get answers quickly, and so we can tell her what to do and get responses directly from her when she does it. I understand you want to impress her, but you're only going to END up wasting our time. Again - not trying to be rude to you - just trying to suggest the best and most efficient method of trying to solve her problem.
