Operating system / ANTIVIRUS & antispyware protection / service packs installed / when did it start HAPPENING / did it ever work right / installed any new software?
Alan <>< As I was typing a reply to you it shut down again. It started about a week ago I have up to date Norton antivirus running. When it shuts down and reboots itself it always performs a scandisk and checks my fat32 file system. Seems like something is attacking my system file I don't know? And your operating system is . . . .? We need to know what operating system you're running (windows XP/98/2000/etc). When scandisk runs does it find any errors and fix them? Could be you need to replace your drive, but with this amount of information we can only guess. Sorry every time I try to reply to your post it shuts down again My operating system is Windows xp HOME edition VER 5.1 service pack 2. Every time scandisk performs a check it makes a lot of correctionsIt seems that theres something wrong with your hard drive. Download and run the diagnostic software from your hard drive manufacturer's website. ok thanks I'll give it a try
