Solve : Computer hardly functioning PLEASE help me!? |
|
Answer» My NOTEBOOK had some trojan bugs on it and i took it to a computer store (HP or HB tech i think it was called) They reset the hard drive and wiped the computer clean. When I got it back it was working a little slow and I looked at the memory and it said 1GB but my computer had 2GB on it when I got it, I took it back and they said they didnt open it because there was no NEED to and told me that it only came in with 1GB. I know it had 2 and it was working fine with all my programs on it but with nothing on it, it's slow. Today I put my Norton360 and AdwareAlert back on it, and the computer wont do anything. It wont UNINSTALL any programs or go onto the internet or do a system restore. I dont know what to do. Im from australia and im in the states at the moment so my resources are limited. Also they charged me $135 to do it, is that the normal price? Someone please help me, i would greatly appreciate itI would start by calling a Lawyer....if you're sure it had 2G and now it has 1G i'd start there...Well, I don't know how much places usually charge to reformat a computer, but I always do it for free, so any price seems a bit much to me. Especially if it's in the triple digits... And this is a terrible way to deal with trojans, by the way. Anyway...they said they didn't open your computer? Has it ever been opened before? Many computers have a seal that is broken when the case is opened. Also, have you tried opening your computer to verify whether or not you have TWO sticks of RAM inserted? Also, have you tried opening your computer to verify whether or not you have two sticks of RAM inserted? the shop could've replaced a single stick of 2gb ram with 1gb. |
