recently, i have BUY a 2nd hand notebook model compaq presario v3000 from my friends. its having lcd problem so he gave me cheap price. after a few weeks i managed to replace the lcd with a new one. at the same time, i try to turn on the notebook and it just boot normally. but after i try to turn on it after 2 hours, it will on and off and it goes so many time at LEAST 20 attempt before it can boot up. im getting fed up because i have to do this everytime whenever i need to use it. can someone there tell me the problem and what i must do to fix this? tq

Sounds like the fan needs to be cleaned. Is it very warm underneath when it shuts down?yes it is warm. normally i just using it for less than 2 hours. i will check the fan again today after works. or is it by any chance a motherboard problem? Of course. There's always a chance it's the motherboard.

Make sure the fan and the area between the fan and the heatsink is clean, then we can further diagnose.
