Solve : COD4 Help?

Answer»
Hello, I got a brand new Compaq CQ50 LAPTOP a few days ago. I went to www.systemrequirementlabs.com and was overjoyed when I saw that I passed the minimum specs for Call of Duty 4 (My old Laptop was so old, it couldn't play Warcraft 3 without freezing every 2 seconds). I bought the game and installed it on my Laptop this morning. When I finally came around to play it, it turned out to be really laggy and choppy even when I turned the textures to low and changed the resolution to 800x600 (recommended settings was high textures and 1280x800). I have saved my Dxdiag system INFO and posted what I think is useful information. If ANYONE can take a look at it and see whats going on, that would be great.

Anyways... Does anyone think it has anything to do with my RAM? Because it currently is 1.7 GB and the "recommended" specs say it should be 2 GB. I could easily decrease my display memory to 238, which is the amount installed on the chip and add the extra 639 MB to my RAM. Anyways, thanks for reading my post.
I would definitely get more RAM (maybe another 512mb stick or a 1gb stick)

Also, I would cut down your startup items.

Go to Start and type msconfig and click on the result.
Go to the Startup tab and disable as many startup items as you can (unchecking them - don't uncheck antivirus software)
Press OK and restart the computer.

(Note: You can run disabled software in Windows)I could add 600 MB of extra RAM if I could find out how to change my shared memory amount... My video card has 200 something dedicated memory and about 600 shared. You don't actually meet the minimum requirements for the game.Minimum Requirements:

System:
Pentium 4 2.4 GHz or faster or equivalent
RAM:
512 MB
Hard Drive Space:
8000 MB
Other:
GeForce 6600 / Ati Radeon 9800Pro or better

Those are the MINIMUM requirements to play COD4Quote

the 8200M may SOUND better because its a higher number, but it is an onboard GPU. the 6600 is an independent GPU. to put it simply... 6600 > 8200M
