Answer» I'm optimizing a system RUNNING XP. I PLAN to do a chkdsk /r. Does that take care of what DEFRAG does? Should I also RUN a defrag first?Defrag afterwards...no they don't do the same thing... Re-boot in between.ThanksTo run checkdisk properly with xp boot to the recovery console and then run chkdsk /rYeah, I've been told that before.
