Solve : chkdsk in windows xp?

Answer»

after chkdsk completes its run the error report does not remain on the display long enouth to read.  how does one hold the report onscreen for a longer period... tksRun from Command Prompt instead of "Start"-->"Run"I think there is some setting you can use to make XP/NT ChkDsk port its output to a text file, but I'm not sure what it is... Search tool TIME for you.

Trying to run it from the CLI emulator will make no difference unless you use a command PARAMETER. It will still call for the PC to be shut down and restarted before running on the boot partition.have a look in the events viewer LOG>admin TOOLS...it should be listed under winlog?
