Answer» I can play an audio cd but I can't copy files to a disc. When I put a disc in it goes to H drive the cd player. I tried to copy some documents and it looked like it was copying them but I when I put the disc back in it was blank. With a disc in when I click on d drive it tells me to insert a disc.Is this drive capable of WRITING CD's? You need a drive that can do this before you can write to CD's, or read blank CD's.
If you do have such a drive: What operating system are you using? Is the disk you are trying to use writable? Do other non-writable CD's with other files on them work? (eg: an installer CD) I am using windows xp home ed. an e-machines COMPUTER with a combo dvd/cd-rw drive on it. I have copied files to disc in the past. I used a cd/rw disc. I tried an excel installion disc and it worked. I was trying to copy excel files and pictures to the blank disc.DLoad and install CDBurner XPPro...it's Free and a very good burning program...How about bad disk? You're using "RW-" disk, right?Quote from: Broni on November 14, 2007, 08:03:32 PM How about bad disk? You're using "RW-" disk, right?
