Answer» I have a pc that I made from spare parts the cd drive is a Mitsumj model # CRMC-FX400 manufacted jan 1995 it says quad SPEED on the front of it. The pc is a amd duron socket 462,A 1300 MHZ SDRAM 128mb, more details needed ask. It reads the disc some times an others it mainly freezes when reading an doesnt boot from the disc an the HARDWARE an cd is good. I had previously used everything except the cd drive. It sounds old..... an the hardware an cd is goodHow do you know this?Maybe the CD drive is on its way out, it is after all 13 years old. It's also quite slow at 4X speed which may account for the freezes when reading, it might just be taking a long time.tells me ALOT. Considering I think it came from a gatway 2000. Cause I had used them else where.Put it back in the gatway then?Does it work in the gateway?It mite of there is no way for me to give it input. I think the HARDDRIVE is cleaned so I cant say at this time.OK, fair enough. If you try it in another computer it might help.hard to say not able to do that at the moment |
