Answer» The situation is... I just RECENTLY updated my windows to windows XP home edition, so I could LOAD my ipod software.. but now my CD drive isn't reading anything... I don't know why it isn't working, and am wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to get my CD drive to work, Before when I had just windows millenium, it read my CD's, and program cd for the ipod and now when I put in the ipod software cd or any other cd it makes the noise like it is reading the cd but nothing shows up on the screen... any ideas??Ok. Well, when you took off your old Windows system and switched to XP, you lost your drivers... What I want you to do is reinstall your drivers.... Can you do that?
[glb]Flame[/glb]No, I don't know how to do that, but when I switched to xp, I took it to a computer guy to do it for me so I don't know really what to do... any easy WAY to explain how to?Alright.... Let's start easy.... Who is the manufacturer of your CD drive?
[glb]Flame[/glb]ok... I think its 'communicate lite software', or thats what I found a cd of, it says modem driver cd so thats it right?No.... I was actually looking for your CD drive's drivers.... You will need the CD for your modem later however...
[glb]Flame[/glb]My cd drive is on D: , I also have a dvd drive, that is an E: drive,Try using Nero InfoTool. It should be able to tell you everything you'll need to know about your drive, including what type it is and who MADE it.
