Answer» i got my computer to boot from the windows XP disc, but i cant get it to install. when i boot from the disc, the screen turns blue (i think that's normal) and says setting up windows, but then there's these two lines. the only key that works is enter, so i press it and the end user license agreement shows up. after i read it, the computer reboots. any ideas? *winxp *will keep rebooting......load it again.....and grab a cup of tea......*it may take a while*ive waited. for a very long time. two hours at least. how long does it usually take?did you TICK the eula..........?/ winxp depending on the system is load into......can take approx one hour and half..it should display how long is left to install.......it doesnt even install. ive installed it on some of my other computers before, and its worked fine, but on this one in particular, it wont start installing. it just reboots the computer. You are only allow to load winxp on TWO pcs....unless is a user groups disks....ENULAWindows XP will not know it is installed on more than one computer until you attempt to activate it.eula........if he/she was connect to the net......the winxp disk contains more than you think! How do you connect to the net if you have no operating system??You say that the only key which works is the Enter key? Do you have an F key lock on your keyboard (?) as you need to press the F8 key to accept the EULA.
If you are unsure about the soundness of the keyboard try using another one with a PS-2 plug.

Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Toolive tried pressing F8. it does accept the EULA, but then it goes to a blank blue screen, with two lines, one on top the other. any ideas?Does the hardware require any drivers to be installed before you get to the setup screen?www.microsoft.com Download the 6-floppy install discs and install from them. They will install all necessary drivers for xp no matter what hardware. Make sure you have enough harddrive space and ram(atleast 256mb) Make sure you download the CORRECT version of xp discs to match your cd. There are different versions ( home or pro-srvice pack 1 or 2 -version 1 or 1a) These discs WORK perfectly especially on older machines. Hope this helps.
