Answer» I just build a new computer from parts i bought. I keep getting errors trying to install games and basically anything anything else that can be installed by the CDrom drive. The errors change if i try a different program. I tried a COUPLE of Cd drives and the same errors occur. I treid 2 different installatons of windws XP and home versions and same issue. i dont get it.. if its a hardware issue i dont think i would be able to install windows XP. HELP!!!!! Questions: 1. Does this concern a legal copy of Windows XP? 2. Have you formatted the Hard Disk Drive before (re-)installing Windows XP? 3. What kind of errors occur? Suggestions: 1. Assign your ACCOUNT moderator abilities. -- Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Accounts 1: This is a legal copy of XP i am using. 2: I formated the Drive with the Software that came with the drive each time before installing the OS 3: The error changes for every program tried. Are you referring to a DIAGNOSTIC diskette? -- I suggest that you format your Hard Disk Drive by using Windows XP as a boot disk. 3. See suggestion at 2.Mostly just game software, but it also happens with norton systemworks 2005.I have also let windows format the drive as well before installation of XP. For one game i try to install i get an I/O error. For BF Vietnam it keeps giving me an cannot copy file"blablabla" file may be corrupt or something along those line. When i get home from work i will post the Actual messages im seeing.And yes that would be the diagnostic software that came with the Hard drive. 1. What are the temperatures of your system? -- You can often monitor the temperatures of your system in the BIOS PC Health section.I am going to check the drive intergrity tonight. 2: there were no errors notcied while installing windows. 3: I dont have the temperature info on. Thats another thing ill look into.disconnet from the net..........then try disabling all the firewalls.....then load the game............>.is the disk scratched/damaged try loaded it in safe mode f8 key on boot....I am recieving CRC errors in instalation of BF vietnam and BF 1942.
