Solve : cannot open upgraded Hotmail site with Win 98...can you help me?? |

Answer» Just got a used Compaq computer with Windows 98. Recently Hotmail.com has upgraded the homepage so that it has a rotating "loading" thingy -- and when I try to go to that page with this new computer, it brings the page up for about 2 seconds, and then the page blanks out COMPLETELY. I can STILL see the taskbar at the top, but cannot open my mail. I am looking...don't see where to find that information... Internet EXPLORER Click on Help->About Internet Explorer And don't lose hope. Using Win98SE here. Just tried www.hotmail.com and I could view mail just fine. Using IE ver 6. I normally don't use it - USUALLY use Firefox for web stuff, and it works fine too with hotmail.com. I doubt the problem is your Win98. By the way, is it Win98 or Win98SE? In IE, go Help>About Internet ExplorerI've got Version 6. Can you think what else the problem might be?? I am frustrated that I can't get my email from there. I'll close out that acct. once I can get it...so it won't matter then!I think it's just Win98.Try Firefox. Thank you!! I used Firefox and it works. Had a message that it was an encrypted page...maybe that's why I couldn't open it? I had checked security settings, but didn't know which one to try changing.
