Answer» When I open up add/remove programs. It is just blank. It doesn't show any of the programs. It used to. Now I can't add or remove programs and it is pissing me off. PLEASE help!!!What Windows Operating System is this? Has this happened before? Have you downloaded/installed anything before this happened? When you open Add/Remove Programs, does it SAY "list being populated" or something? It's a bit of a longshot, but you could try this... http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=309663
But we definitely need more info before we can properly assist you.I am using windows 2000. This has not happened before. As far as downloading anything. Right before this happened I deleted a couple of programs that I have not used in a long time just to free up some disc SPACE. I honestly do not know what I deleted. But after I did this I was not able to access add/remove programs. For a while I couldn't open links, check email and play video. But I downloaded netscape and that seemed to correct most of that. I don't know why anything I deleted would prevent me from accessing the add/remove programs. I will try that linkCBMatt,
I am using the link to modify the registry. It is asking me to confirm the value of the Threading Model is "Both" I don't see anything that says threading model. Do you know what that means?
I appreciate your help. I have attached a zip file to the end of this post. Download that file and extract it to your desktop. Inside of it is a .reg file. Right-click on it and click on Merge. When prompted, click on Yes. See if this makes a DIFFERENCE.
[Saving disk space - old attachment deleted by admin]I hope you read this, I have downloaded the zip file. Now it is asking me which program I want to use to open it up. What should I chose?DLoad and install 7Zip...it will handle that file nicely.
