Answer» I'm not able to pull anything up on a c.d. I used it a few weeks ago and could view everything fine. It doesn't look like it was completely erased, because the space is still allocated. There is just no option to open any of the items. Thanks for any help! http://forums.cnet.com/7723-6142_102-273450/files-burnt-in-cd-disappeared/ Some members of the above forum have recovered files that mysteriously disappeared on a burned CD with this program: http://www.isobuster.com/
How OLD is the disc and how often was it rewritten(if it was a RW disc)?I believe the disk is new, but someone else gave it to me with some info I needed for genealogy research, so I don't KNOW for sure. It is a DVD-R. Any ideas on recovering info? Thanks! They MAY not have finalised the burn...a fairly common mistake... Create a new FOLDER on tour HDD... Then DLoad and use the Trial version of ISOBuster...extract the data to the newly created folder and you can re-burn it for yourself.
