Solve : built-in administrator account not showing please help!?

Answer»

hi,

well i've tried to bypass the password on startup, so i went into the netplwiz and looked around in there... closed it and it said save changes... but i didnt click anything so i pressed ok..

then all my administrator permissions were gone for the only account on this COMPUTER...

I cannot run anything in administrator mode...not even in cmnd prompt in the windows 10 ui...

so i ran cmnd prompt in the recovery mode... (luckily the administrator account there is set at a blank password)

i enabled the built-in administrator ...it successfully enabled...

i start windows regularly... but there is no administrator account to choose from... only the outlook account i have on my computer...

i am not ruling out a virus... i am also searching google for "virus not allowing administrator" just checking out my options...

hope someone can help.... thanks!

Rod-Do you have an antivirus installed to run a scan? And anything detected?Did you do this?

Use the following steps to start Windows 7 in Safe Mode when the computer is off:
    Turn on the computer and immediately begin pressing the F8 key repeatedly.
    From the Windows Advanced Options Menu, use the arrow keys to select Safe Mode, and press ENTER.
The hidden administrator should be visible.

I was trying this... But after I hear the beep...
But ill try it as soon as I turn on the computer later...
I heard windows 10 automatically disables that f8 thing?

Also I've tried the windows 10 way to get to safe mode (shift+click restart") I went to the boot mode , pressed restart but it doesn't pop up with a safe mode option... Only a blue screen flashes and windows starts up as normal....

But I'll try the F8 key as soon as I turn on computer...

I think k I've read that someone else messed with the netplwiz application and this HAPPENED to them as well... So if I can only get it in safe mode ill probably be able to fix this by going back into netplwiz...

It's Shift +F8 for safemode... Quote from: patio on August 26, 2016, 06:24:55 PM
It's Shift +F8 for safemode...

ive tried multiple times.. mashing the two keys at the same time.. then holding them...

nothing works UPDATE*

I've enabled the F8 safe mode through command prompt under the recovery mode i went into command prompt and type
"C:" press enter... then type "BCDEDIT /SET {DEFAULT} BOOTMENUPOLICY LEGACY" press enter.. that enabled the f8 key boot menu.....

so i restart the computer... when the manufacture's screen comes up i do shift+f8 ... the next screen that comes up has the REGULAR type text... "choose operating system" i choose windows 10.. its says "press f8 key to see advance booting options for selected operating system" i press f8 it restarts the computer..... it doesn't bring up safemode menu...

ugh... what now...i think i've given up... im currently saving everything i want to keep in a flash drive... going to reinstall windows, CAUSE i've tried the recover but keep my personal files.. and it failed...
From time to time people come here for password changes.

Some, like myself, are reluctant to give out 'hacks' to bypass the security of Windows. For a number of reasons. One: Elsewhere it has been documented tart Windows 10 has options available help users use passwords.Two: The "hacks" destroy something that is needed.

Sorry your had a bad  bad experience.

Epilogue: Windows 10 allowsyou to give a hint.
Possible easy password with hint:
Password = NewYorkNewYork
Hint =  NYNY
