Can not connect to the internet with any http/https connection.  Tried IE, Chrome, Firefox.  I can ping and trace, just no browser connections.  Is there some part of WINDOWS to reload to just make this work?Why are you starting a new thread?Allan - I believe my situation is a little different.  I can connect to the internet with other protocols, just not http or https.  So with different browsers tried and no results and being able to connect we can rule out a connection isue temporarily...
What protection apps do you have installed and is there a firewall ? ?SORRY, I saw the thread title and thought you'd started two different threads for the same ISSUE. My mistake.Panda 2010. USING that firewall also. I have tried with the realtime protection both on and off. Did you try rebooting after disabling protection ? ?
Yes, tried all 3 browsers.  The error in FireFox is that the proxy server is rejecting the connection.  The other two have generic errors.So you are running a proxy ? ?...or no ?
Not on purpose. I should be running with a simple router-dsl modem path. Could something have inserted itself as a proxy? How can I tell and disable/remove if necessary?
