Answer» AMD has just POSTED their latest CPU pricing list, and has slashed prices across the board for Desktop chips. All Athlon X2's are now priced under $200 US. The Athlon X2 6000+ now costs $178 per unit, down from $241 when purchased in quantities of 1000. Pricing on mobile processors remains unchanged.
These price cuts come just days before Intel is expected to cut prices on their CPU line, and highlight new processors featuring a 1333MHz FSB. Preliminary pricing charts based on a July 22nd drop-date have Intel offering their Q6600 quad-core chip for $266 US, and all Core 2 Duo desktop chips with the exception of the 3.0GHz E6850 priced below $200 US.
no linkGood news for people looking to upgrade then. Some very nice prices there, thanks for sharing.anything for my buddies in the "motherland" LOL. We probably won't get those cuts . . . or if we do, they'll just change $ to £ so we have the X2 6000+ for £178 rather than $178, almost twice as much. That's what they usually do . . .like I TOLD Raptor awhile back* we can always work things out over here back to you * shhhhhhhhhhh thats great! i plan on building a new comp and i wanted the qaud core but it was too much woot for competitioni wouldn't touch a quad for at least another 2 years (Why ?) if you are not PHOTO editing or in national gaming competions whats the use .........
I think that E6850 has my name written all over it !!!!!!!!!!
anyone want to buy an E6600 ? << "joke/sarcasm"
ACTUALLY any of these C2d's are smokin, read all the reviews it don't mater which one you get they rock!OOO i actually am interested in the e6600 i think thats the one i was gonna put into my comp but ill prolly just buy it new no offense just cant trust people on the interneti can't even tell you how sweet these c2d 's are, you will be blown away how fast your computer goes after installing any of these cpu 's........ it's not so much the speed with these processors... it's the DEDICATED 2 cores and great cache size with the E6600 ......( I was somewhat skeptical of just getting a 2.4 ghz cpu) I have a pentium 4 650 3.4ghz stock in another rig..............
the c2d absolutely smokes my pentium 4 !!!!!!!!!!!! no comparison * lol i am now pumped to get one i also choose the e6600 because it was a good price for the power and i've heard great things about it. im savin up a bit of money right now i should have enough for the comp in two weeks i am savin up a bit more than initially planned to get the geforce 8800gts 640mb
