Answer» i have 2 linux OPERATING systems and i need a simple boot loader (pref like the one with windows) pref off the same hddYou can do this off the hard drive. I thought you wanted to do this off 2 live CDROMS and combine them.
It is easy to do off the hard drive. Each will try to load it's own boot loader - either LILO or GRUB. You can boot multiple operating systems with either.ok....how di i do that?thay both use isolinux as a bootloader how do i reprogram that?Load one on one partition and LET it install it's bootloader. Load the other on another partition and let it load it's boot loader. The second one will be active and you can choose which os you WANT ot boot. If it does not look like you want you can edit the bootloader file, but you probably won't need to.
You can use the same swap file for both systems.Pity that you can't easily switch from one drive to another without re-booting.Any bootloader requires you to END one operating system to start the other. You don't have to shut off the machine, or even REBOOT the machine.
Even the dearly beloved Windows cannot run two instances of itself at the same time.
If you are using a program like VMWare that will allow you to run an emulation of one OS through another that is another thing altogether, but he was talking about a bootloader, Mac.
Have you ever tried BootIT NG?
