Answer» I am RUNNING WINDOWS XP and when i boot up the FOLLOWING happens:
- Detecting Primary Master.....NONE - Then i get a message saying "Insert system disk and press ENTER"
Is this the sign that the hard drive has died, or can it be repaired with Win XP?
PLEASE adviseHave you changed (added/removed/replaced) any hardware or changed you bios settings recently?? If you've replaced your hdd make sure it's jumpered as Master.
This could be caused by your bios setting or by hardware. Confirm that hdd 0 is specified in your bios and if that seems ok then check the connections between mobo & hdd and while you are inside your box reseat as many cards as you can.
Warning.. Take all the necessary precautions before removing any cover from your magic box. Ensure the power is off and that you are earthed to prevent a static discharge!! Also, remove any floppy disks from the floppy drive and reboot.
