Answer» For the past 2 weeks, I have been getting the message when I restart my PC: CMOS settings wrong. CMOS DAte/Time Not set New CPU installed! Please enter setup to configure your SYSTEM. Press F1 to run setup. Press F2 to load default values and continue.
I will run the set up and change the necessary parameters but will get same message again when I restart my PC. What is causing this and how do I correct it. My PC uses American Megatrends BIOS system. I use WINDOWS XP Pro. Pls helpReplace the CMOS battery. Will taking out the battery and replacing not cause ANYTHING to the programs on the PCs?
Do I have to do anything before removing the battery or I should just go ahead and take the one on the mb and replace it (just like that!)
Thanks and waiting for your response.
