Solve : avatar offer for panboy?

Answer»

panboy, what in the world are you doing with your avatar? You're taking a image that's actually 216,700 bytes and 664 x 1000 pixels and using it to display an avatar of 43 x 65 pixels. And, BTW, just earlier today when I checked, you had it set at 65 x 98 pixels. Are you changing the display dimensions, thinking that doing so will somehow make the underlying image file smaller? It won't. And, that IS exactly what you need to do. Make the underlying image file smaller.

Here's an optmized version of your image, at 65 x 98 pixels, that's only 2,663 bytes, or about 1/100 the size of your file:

Please, please, please take it and use it.Ive FIXED its Cool , i THOUGHT i got Scale'd down , sry my bad , ive got the imaged you scaled down , its all good nowGlad to hear it. Actually, many of the avatars being used in the forum are larger than necessary, for the same reason yours was. People either don't know that downsizing the image before using it as an avatar will produce a smaller file size, or they are just lackadaisical in their attitude about it. But, I've never seen a case where the resizing would yield as drastic a change as in your case. That's why I POSTED the message. When I first displayed a topic with your large avatar file this morning, I noticed, even with DSL Internet access, that the avatar was taking a bit of time to display. THANKS for the Effort soy , and im GLAD you dident just go and start Telling the Entire Board that i made a mistake that proves that i am incapable of operating a computer , like some people...Quote
