Solve : Are they really doing that with emulators??

Answer»

Okay, I know I am naive about the wonderful world of computers. I MEAN I am totally intimidated by what they can do. And my only envy in life has to be PEOPLE who know the ins and outs of computers. Yesterday I was looking for FAQs on vid game emulators and got a Yahoo! search page filled with emulators for OS or computers. Is that right? Are they making ems that can change a computer from say a P3 to a P4? My mouth is still hanging open at the thought. No "they're" not.
Hardware emulation is generally very resource heavy. So it is only possible to emulate something that is a lot slower (hardware wise) than the system the emulator is going to RUN on.

No personal computer TODAY have the processing power needed to do REALTIME hardware emulation of a P4 processor.

Besides there would be little point in creating a p4 emulator. Any x86 compatible processor can run the same software as a P4. (If processors can run Windows it is x86 compatible.)
