Solve : amd 1700? |
|
Answer» Hello all, first post here so my apologies if this has been asked before. My processor is an amd 1700, i UNDERSTAND it runs at 1.47 mhz, correct? The reason i ask is when i go to my control PANEL, then system, it says its only a 1.10 ghz, but the ram is correct at 768. I didnt realize this untill i installed a game and it said my computer didnt meet the minnimum requirements. Any ideas as to whats going on? Thanks in advance, Cdog. Can you overclock an AMD processor? Has it been 1.10ghz? Is your BIOS upgraded? Are the jumpers SET correctly on the motherboard (133 vs 166?)Its an msi motherboard, and yes this happened after i tried to update the bios. but it SUPPOSEDLY reset to original defaults. Its an msi kt3 ultra 2 (ms-6380e), anyone know where to get a good update?? Thanks again, Cdog.So you did back up your old BIOS setting or no? It is hard to get an old version.. the original version they don't seem to have them anymore. So you did back it up and know how to set it back right?NO, i didnt back it up, and no i do not really have a clue what im doing!!Did your computer ever show it as 1.47ghz?Yes, it did, and when i tried to fix this, the very next screen that came up showed it as 1.47, but it would not let me continue, so i had to back out. Thanks for your quick responses and patience, it is greatly appreciated!! Is there anywhere on the web where i could find an updated bios? Thanks again, Cdog.Well what I read so far people are overclocking there AMD processors to 1.47ghz. Maybe you don;t have to but let me go reasearch your motherboard... what BIOS you are using? Award or does it come with another one? |
