Solve : Adobe Acrobat Reader?

Answer»

Are you using Adobe Acrobat reader to read your PDF documents?

Well, you might have noticed that going down through the pdf documents while moving to the next
page can be an irritating task, because the movement seems to HOLD on and just don't move as easily as it should.

What if the pdf document is large enough, says 50 pages? It gets more irritating.

Well here is an alternative to adobe acrobat reader, and it is Foxit Reader.

You can download the free version from here

and when you open any pdf document through foxit reader, it seems like you are going down in an ms word document -- very easy.

Much smoother. Thanks, I got some 100-page MANUALS on my Desktop. Thanks.

One thing I forgot to add here.

There is another benfit of using Foxit Reader.

When you open PDF multiple pdf documents with Adobe Acrobat, the next document overwrite the previous document.

But while you use foxit reader as your default pdf reader, every separate PDF documents will open in a new window,Fed has promoting Foxit for about a year. Where were you guys?Under Rock #22643735827. Is Fed a marketer? Then I should take some advice from him. Before Foxit I refused to click on links that were PDF.
Notice how much FASTER Foxit loads up?
Notice how Foxit doesn't try and take over your COMPUTER like a virus.
Notice how when you use Adobe then close it... it doesn't unload.
Adobe is my pet hate, along with Realplayer, Quicktime and Norton.Quote

Not true. It just OPENS in the same Adobe Reader (Reader, not Acrobat, right?) window; the first PDF opened is still open. Just click on Window on the Reader toolbar and you'll see all open PDF files. I've got Adobe Reader running now with 4 PDF documents open.

As for the main point of this discussion, the speed of Adobe Reader (Reader, not Acrobat, right?), anyone still using version 6.0 should upgrade to 7.01. It's much more responsive than 6.0. Version 7.0 is not compatible with Win 9x. Quote

Means what? Are Adobe reader and adobe acrobat reader different?

Ok. Some clarification.... It actually overwrites the previous pdf document.
The previous PDF document still stays opened.

If you have a no. of pdf documents opened in the same adobe reader window
you can always shift between the by pressing Ctrl + Tab.

What does that number signifY??

Adobe Acrobat is Adobe's PDF creation software and is not free. Adobe Reader is the free software that anyone download to view PDF documents. Although at one time the reader was called Adobe Acrobat Reader, the naming was changed, if I recall correctly, at least two versions prior to the most current version, which is version 7.0.8, I believe. So I was trying to clarify whether you have Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader. Again, they are not the same thing.

You are quite right about moving from one window to another with Ctrl + Tab.Quote
