Solve : Administrator Issues?

Answer»

I am unable to go to misconfig and remove programs from my start up file. I keep getting the message that I am not the administrator and cannot make these changes. I am the administrator and cannot understand why I keep getting this message. This may be a simple (hopefully) issue but it is a huge issue with me. Please help. 1) msconfig is a diagnostic utility. It should not be used to change startup options for other than troubleshooting purposes. Instead, download and run a simple utility designed to do that job, like Mike Lin's Startup Control Panel (http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml)

2) Just as a quick malware test, SEE if you can run regedit and/or task manager.Alian, I am ABLE to do both tasks in your number 2 advice and I will download the program to use to change the start up programs (hopefully). I really appreciate your response as I am not a "techie" person and did not know what to do. Thank you so much. This is my first post so I do not know if I should give you STARS, etc. for your help. If I am, please let me know. If not, I thank you. Don't worry about it. Using the "thank so and so" link in the post is nice, but more important is being responsive LETTING US know what is going on. And of course saying "thank you" is always nice. You've done both, so you've more than met your obligation
