Answer» I'm running XP on a standard Dell desktop. Trying to find in the Add/Delete screen, from the Control Panel, PROGRAMS that show up when I go Computer - C drive- Program Files- specific file. How do I get a complete population? Some apps simply do not land there...what app is it you are looking for ? ? Also CHECK to see if the app has it's own un-installer...some do.The specific program is just a MP4 Trading chart..... but I've got about 50% more programs listed in the Program FOLDER than appear in the Add/Delete screen. You will need to check them...
I'm assuming you repopulated the list after it's done loading here...I didn't know that it could be repopulated.....or how to do it. Instructions please. This usually happens when an installation places an invalid entry in the registry. If you scroll down the Add/Remove window, you will probably see the other entries.
To fix the display of A/R, use REGEDIT and navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
Use "Find" to search for DisplayIcon.
If the value for one or more APPLICATIONS end in -1, change the 1 to a 0
Close REGEDIT
That should solve the display problem.
Usual warning about backing up the registry applies.
