I would like to know how long it should take to activate a new laptop. The INFORMATION that came with it says it will take between 1-2hrs and the SALESMAN said his took about 2hrs yet mine only took 15mins. It came sealed in the makers box.
Also a distributor who sells Acers for BUSINESS use says they open the boxes and set them up all ready to go as a service to customers. Can I trust this. Could they be refurbished and sold as new?

LeighGood question. Refurbished computers have to be identified as such. An "Open Box" computer has to be sold with the same warranty as a new one, unless specified otherwise.
I suppose you are either in the USA or a county that has similar CONSUMER protection laws
