Are you saying you want to dump Vista and install XP ? ?

If so:
Collect all the drivers available for your machine for XP.
Get  an XP CD that includes  a valid authourisation.

Travel to your machine's website for the correct drivers...How long did you actually use Vista before coming to this conclusion?  What do you not like about it?How about the Acer website? Ever heard of a browser? Use it.

Mosts Acer notebook are using vista I am also using Acer but its travelmate and they are also using vista in it. I just dont like it too since everyday there is lots of updates and it is really irritating at times. Quote from: alex404 on January 04, 2009, 07:00:43 PM

No, there are not "lots of updates" everyday.  I've been using Vista for 1 1/2 years now and that simply is not an accurate statement.  If you mean you get alerts everyday, I suspect it's because you aren't downloading the updates when first alerted.  Or he's running Windows Defender ..."How about the Acer website? Ever heard of a browser? Use it."

I THINK you'll find that the Acer site only has Vista drivers for the M1641, not XP drivers.
to get around this, u need 3 things :
1 : XP disk either SP2 or 3
2: NLite : http://www.nliteos.com/download.html
3: M1641 Sata Driver for XP. and all the other drivers too : http://komku.blogspot.com/2009/01/aspire-m1641-m3641-m5641-windows-xp-and.html

Run Nlite, follow the wizard, add your sata drivers, copy any other drivers u need on to the CD also, make the ISO (selecting bootable and driver OPTIONS) , burn it, install from the new disk. when installing delete/remake/format your primary PARTITION, then go out and have a beer if you selected the 'unattended install' option with all your drivers included...
