I've been using Vista for 1 1/2 years now and that simply is not an accurate statement. I THINK you'll find that the Acer site only has Vista drivers for the M1641, not XP drivers. to get around this, u need 3 things : 1 : XP disk either SP2 or 3 2: NLite : http://www.nliteos.com/download.html 3: M1641 Sata Driver for XP. and all the other drivers too : http://komku.blogspot.com/2009/01/aspire-m1641-m3641-m5641-windows-xp-and.html Run Nlite, follow the wizard, add your sata drivers, copy any other drivers u need on to the CD also, make the ISO (selecting bootable and driver OPTIONS) , burn it, install from the new disk. when installing delete/remake/format your primary PARTITION, then go out and have a beer if you selected the 'unattended install' option with all your drivers included... If so:
