Answer» They say theres no degradation in digitaal files like 'MP3', 'DivX' How come PRESSED CD's, Commmercial DVD's are much better QUALITY?
Isit because the formats are compressed smaller which makes the quality worse? Which means quality cant degrade UNLESS you reencode?
So i could listen to an MP3 and watch a movie on the pc as much as i wanted without anything happening to it? The picture would stay its same quality until i reencode? For some mind numbing descriptions of MP3 and DivX check out:

Hope this helps. Yeah thanks it did help.
Didn't have time to read all of it. I was just wondering though, doesl istening to them more and more CAUSE the quality to go worse on DivX and MP3 or will it always stay the same?
UNLESS It's converted to mp3 being ripped from CD or if its divx being compressed from 4.7 GB to 700 MB and reencoding.
If i just have loads of divx videos on the pc though and dont reencode any of them just leave them like they are, they will not degrade in any way, right?? Unless of course they got corrupted but that would be noticable.
So they wouldnt degrade if i just watched them over and over then?

Digital quality does not degrade unless the files become corrupted, altered or the medium where UPON they are stored damaged.
