Answer» i just exhanged a faulty altec LANSING 5.1 surround sound system for a new one.
ive only had it a day and im getting a really weird echo from anything i play. its plugged into the GREEN jack on the back of my PC and into the AUX in on the front of the sub.
i get 5.1 sound from it anc can CONTROL the rear speakers separately.
could it be a lag time between the front and rear speakers causing an echo or am i missin something
oh and a program came preinstalled with the soundcard driver called XME CMI AUDIO config whcih allowws you to change audio effects and independant speaker volumesIt could mean the card needs some tweaking...have you installed that software yet ? ?yes i have and i have tried to tweak it by telling it i was in a smaller room which is one of the features and it got alittle better but still echoes alot which is most noticeable with speech.
im not sure what ELSE to change
