Hey guys, i've googled this topic but it was a bit hard to find information that applied to my problem.

So! my problem is that i have a 7.1/5.1 sound card and i have 4.1 SPEAKERS. HOWEVER! i have a monitor with TWO speakers on it. i ignored them for ages and then i thought perhaps if i plug em in they might get involved with the 4.1 and make it all 5.1. On my creative sound card (i think its a SB Live!) you are suppost to plug extra speakers into the digital input and make sure digital sound is off. ANYWAY, it seemed that it wasnt the case and i didn't bothered trying to make it work because i knew i was cheating trying to magic up a 5.1.

I left it all plugged in and i began to notice that when ever i play a game that supports surround sound it uses my monitor speakers as the 'center' SPEAKER of a 5.1 set. The only time my center speaker doesnt work is in windows. And I've been into the control panel and set up the sound to a 5.1 setup, but it STILL wont work in windows!!

its not the biggest problem in the world so i don't mind it not working, but if it would work all programs that depend on the windows audio settings (like wmp ) would be +boom and that would be lovely.
