Answer» I am just about to take possession of a pretty good pc (i7/6GB RAM/1GB GPU etc) and am looking to buy a full HD 23/24" monitor to go with it. It has to have an HDMI input and preferably 16:9. I don't want to spend more than £150 on it. I KNOW they exist as I have seen quite a few but my knowledge of computers doesn't cover monitors very well so I'm a bit lost.
This will mostly be used for multimedia use and a bit of gaming so refresh rate is semi important.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!! THANKS, BooWhy does it need to have hdmi? Are you planning on hooking it up to a dvd player or digital cable? If it's just being used on your computer, I think you should only need dvi. In my opinion, refresh rate is a non issue for today's lcd monitors. Any lcd should do just fine. If you're doing a lot of photo/video editing, try to get something with a good contrast ratio. Having a low contrast ratio can really screw up your editing.
Take a look at newegg.com for their monitors and sort through your requirements. I know all their prices are USD, but it should give you a good starting POINT, and I don't know what sites are available in your country. I think newegg is one of the best places for doing research on electronics. I always start there even if I end up buying something somewhere else. http://www.newegg.com/Store/SubCategory.aspx?SubCategory=20&name=LCD-Monitors
