Answer» Hello people... I've just recently INSTALLED a new motherboard into an IBM netvista 2257 b4u. Its running a PIII PROCESSOR..... when the machine starts to boot up, I get the 167 no processor bios found. I've gone to IBM, and downloaded the new bios updates for the machine. I insert the diskette with the flash into the machine...it wont even let me get that far..... as soon as the machine starts to boot up, I get that error. any suggestions? That is USUALLY an incorrect processor that has been installed for that motherboard.
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-4BAHK2Hi GX, thanks for your reply..... the board thats being used is made specifically for the CPU...... the board is a replacement from IBM.... the origional was a factory defect..... the capacitors had swelled, and were LEAKING. IBM replaced it under an extended warranty.I would carefully remove that CPU and check for bent pins...if none are found demand a new MBoard.
