Sir/Mam, in this assignment it is mentioned that "The falling of a body (or object) from a height towards the Earth under the gravitational force of Earth (with no other forces acting on it) is called free fall and such a body is called 'freely falling body'." Sir/Mam as it is mentioned that "with no other forces acting on it" i.e. on a body or in a object but sir the force of air resistance is acting on the body or in a object so sir how it can be a free falling body? |

In the same way ASTRONAUTS in the SPACE STATION are in the state of free fall since the space station is also EXPERIENCING an equal acceleration towards the earth. Here in your CASE air is not a body which can stop the movement of the body. Hence the resistance offered by air is negligible in this case. |
