Salt is soluable in water but insoluble in benzene in Hindi नमक पानी में घुल जाता है किंतु बेंजीन में नहीं क्यों |
|
Answer» Sodium chloride is an IONIC compound and ionic compounds dissolve in polar SOLVENTS. Benzene is not a polar SOLVENT since its held by covalent bonds. Since water is a polar solvent, then by virtue of sodium chloride being an ionic compound it will dissolve in the polar solvent water, but will not dissolve in benzene. |
