Rohit buys items at 25% discount on the marked price. He sells it for Rs. 660, making a profit of 10%. What is the marked price of the item?

Answer»

Given,

S.P. of item by Rohit = 660

10% profit

\(\frac{110}{100}\) = \(\frac{S.P.-C.P.}{C.P.}\)x 100

\(\frac{110}{100}\)C.P. = S.P.

C.P. = \(\frac{100}{110}\)X 660 = 600

Rohit bought that item for Rs 600/- at 25% discount.

This is the selling price for shopkeeper

He offers 25% discount

\(\frac{25}{100}\) = \(\frac{M.P.-S.P.}{M.P.}\)

 \(\frac{25}{100}\) = \(\frac{M.P.-600}{M.P.}\)

\((\frac{25}{100})\)M.P. = (M.P. - 600)

600 = \(\frac{75}{100}\)M.P.

M.P. = 600 x \(\frac{100}{75}\)

MP = 800/-
